If I didn’t fully appreciate the enormity of being a writer, after almost a month of study with Margie Lawton, I certainly do now. Calling yourself a writer means you are destined to grow, to change, to evolve with every new story you write. There will never come a time when you can sit back and believe you have achieved the pinnacle of your ability because you need to continually reach higher. To believe in yourself as a writer, tomorrow you will stretch and exercise those brain cells into such a vigorous workout that seems impossible today. Then next week you will push yourself even further. Don’t settle for being published, don’t rest on the accolades you reaped with your success, don’t ever stop learning and honing your craft. Let your imagination flow, but keep your eyes and ears open and don’t be afraid to experiment with new or different ways to express yourself. Your writing will strengthen. Satisfaction with your work will soar and pull you up into the dizzy heights of success. Go on, give it a go. Happy writing.
